What the FFS?

What the FFS? is our podcast.

It exists because Fortuna Female Society exists.
And Fortuna Female Society exists because women kept having the same conversations, in kitchens, car parks, WhatsApp messages, and quiet corners of rooms.

Laura is joined by Fortuna Female Society CIO trustees Louise and Sal to talk openly about how Fortuna came to be and why organisations like ours are still needed.

What the FFS? Watch the FFS! Podcast Episode 1

How Fortuna Female Society began

Fortuna Female Society began in 2018 through early conversations and events that brought women together and kept bringing them back. What started as shared get-togethers grew into something more consistent, more intentional, and more necessary.

Collaboration turned into community, and community became Fortuna Female Society.

Our organisation exists because women kept having the same conversations in small pockets of life and realising the answer to “is it just me?” was always no.

We built spaces to take those conversations further. Spaces to talk honestly, question what we’ve normalised, and stop shrinking to fit.

The need was already there. We created the room.

What the FFS? Our conversation goes there

Our first podcast episode names what women are already navigating.

  • Women’s spaces and why they still matter
  • Confidence, visibility, and finding your voice
  • Intergenerational connection and community
  • Reclaim the Night and being visible together
  • Social media, the manosphere, and online influence
  • Letting go of people-pleasing
  • Not waiting until we’re nearly 50 to stop giving a FFS

We don’t wrap it up neatly. We say it out loud and let it sit where it belongs.

Keep the conversation going

If this episode landed, don’t just nod along.
Share it.
Talk about it.

And tell us what you want to hear next.

What conversations are missing?
What questions aren’t being asked?
What do women need space to say out loud right now?

Drop into our socials and tell us. Our podcast grows the same way FFS did. From real voices, real experiences, and women shaping the conversation together.
