Family Peace Retreat 2026

A free family Peace Retreat for the whole community, hosted together by Fortuna Female Society and the Brianna Ghey Legacy Project.

For one Sunday in August, St Marie’s in Widnes becomes somewhere to breathe out. A day to step off the treadmill, let your shoulders drop, and remember what calm actually feels like, alongside other people doing exactly the same.

We’ve shaped it hand in hand with the Brianna Ghey Legacy Project and its Flourishing Families programme, bringing together everything we both believe about wellbeing, connection, and looking after one another.

Who is the Peace Retreat for?

Everyone.

Come on your own and find your feet in your own time.
Bring a friend you’ve been meaning to catch up with properly.
Bring the kids, bring the whole family, bring whoever you’d like beside you.

here’s no right way to arrive, and nobody who doesn’t belong here.

What to expect at the Peace Retreat?

Step inside the wellbeing tipi and take your pick as the day unfolds.

Yoga to loosen everything off, breathwork to steady you, tai chi to ground you, and wellbeing workshops with something to carry home. A quiet hour or two (or more!) that belongs to you, for adults and teens alike.

Over in the family area, grown-ups and children explore wellbeing side by side, with activities drawn from the Legacy Project’s Flourishing Families programme. The little ones get their own yoga. Families get room to play, rest, and simply be together with nowhere else to be.

As the day winds down, we all gather for a gentle family sound bath. A soft, still ending, everyone in one room, breathing slow.

Treatments run throughout, massage included, there for whenever you fancy one. Everything in the tipi and every treatment works on a first come, first served basis, so wander over and see what’s free.

Food and refreshments are on hand to buy across the day, so you can settle in and make a proper day of it.

And whatever the sky decides, we’re sorted.
Sun out, we spill into the grounds.
Rain in, everything’s fully covered and the day carries on regardless.

Life is loud, and it moves fast. Here is a whole day to pause, breathe, and spend real time with the people around you. Made by this community, for this community.
